THE BITER

A dying Texas town, a child's nightmare, and the night the desert sky caught fire.

Sci-fi horrorSmall-town mysteryFamily dramaSocial tensionAI film

Red Mesa is slowly disappearing beneath the Texas sun. The mine is closing, the school may be next, and along with jobs and hope, its residents are losing trust in one another. The summer heat makes every conversation about the future feel heavier. Fear needs someone to blame—and the town increasingly finds that person among its own neighbors.

Susie wakes from a nightmare no one else has reason to believe.

Susie's nightmare

Susie wakes from a nightmare no one else has reason to believe.

While the adults argue about unemployment, immigration, and what became of their town, Susie is afraid of something else. She dreams of strange creatures and of something she cannot yet explain. To her mother, it is only a child's nightmare: frightening, but unreal, certain to vanish with the morning.

But some dreams do not end when you wake.

THE BITER blends family drama, social tension, and science-fiction mystery. The unknown does not come to a strong, prepared city, but to a community that fear and mutual hatred have already pushed close to breaking.

Susie's mother tells her that nightmares do not come true. A few hours later, the desert sky catches fire.
